Dress Code 2026/27
Our dress code helps create a professional learning environment while allowing instructors to properly assess technique, alignment, and body placement. Appropriate dance attire also promotes safety and allows dancers to move confidently without clothing becoming a distraction.
Please see the Dress Code by Style section in the dropdown menu for detailed attire requirements for each class.
Intermediate & Senior Dancers:
As dancers mature, they are given greater flexibility in their dance attire. Intermediate and Senior dancers may wear fitted black dancewear or athletic wear that allows instructors to clearly see alignment, technique, and body placement. Clothing should be predominantly black and free of large logos or graphics. Hip Hop attire may be looser fitting; however, clothing for all other styles should remain fitted and secure.
Please note: This flexibility does not apply to Ballet. All Intermediate and Senior Ballet dancers are required to wear the designated ballet uniform as outlined in the Ballet dress code.
Dancewear should not require constant adjusting or interfere with movement, instruction, or the safety of the dancer or those around them. This flexibility is a privilege that comes with maturity and responsibility. Dancers who consistently arrive in attire that does not meet these expectations may be required to purchase and wear the studio uniform.
Hair:
Hair must be securely fastened away from the face for every class. Ballet dancers should wear their hair in a ballet bun whenever possible. For all other styles, a ponytail, braid, bun, or another secure hairstyle that stays in place throughout class is acceptable.
